Before Treatment
If you have an active infection or acne flare-up in the treatment area, you will need to reschedule your appointment. Avoid direct sun exposure and tanning the week leading up to your appointment. Drink lots of water to hydrate your skin and arrive with a bare face (devoid of makeup or moisturizer).
Tell your Stadia Med Spa practitioner about any prescriptions, herbal supplements, and medications that may interfere with your treatment. You may need to stop any anti-inflammatory medications before and after RF microneedling as they may interfere with your healing and results.
During Treatment
Patients often describe RF microneedling treatment as relaxing and therapeutic. You will experience a gentle warming of your skin’s surface similar to the feeling of the sun heating the skin.
Your Stadia Med Spa practitioner will thoroughly clean the area and apply a topical anesthetic. Then they will place the RF microneedling device over the treatment area. Fine needles puncture the top layers of the skin (up to 3 mm), and your provider will pass the device over the treatment area several times.
The treatment time varies depending on the area being treated. A treatment could take as little as 30 minutes and up to an hour.
After Treatment
Although most patients report few if any side effects, the most common is a slight redness that disappears within an hour after treatment. You can expect to immediately return to normal activities, but use sunscreen if participating in outdoor activities.

You cannot have RF microneedling if you are pregnant or nursing. Smokers are encouraged to quit as active smokers have an increased risk of bleeding, bruising, and infection. If you have an active acne flare up or infection in your treatment area, contact Stadia Med Spa to reschedule.
Results from RF microneedling may be visible within a few weeks of your procedure. However, most people do not see the full results of their treatment until 3 to 6 months. Cosmetic treatments that stimulate collagen growth may have results that continue to improve for up to a year after treatment.
RF microneedling with Laser Genesis is an FDA-approved treatment with very few side effects. The most common side effect is a slight redness that disappears within an hour after treatment.

Laser Genesis treatments are safe on all skin types. However, if you take antibiotics or other photosensitizing medications, you cannot be treated due to contraindications. A traditional facial can be quite harsh on the skin with numerous ingredients, any of which cause allergic reactions or breakouts. In addition, manual extractions performed during a traditional facial can be painful and traumatic to the skin resulting in redness.
Traditional facials will not stimulate collagen growth, improve texture, or diminish pore size but a Laser Genesis facial will. Laser Genesis also diffuses the facial redness that accompanies rosacea.
For those that are serious about their skin, upping the ante with a Laser Genesis facial is money well spent. While it can take up to six treatments to see optimal results from a Laser Genesis facial, the lasting results will be worth the extra time and cost.
