Injectables Facial lines can be caused by repetitive muscle movement (Dynamic) or through a loss of tissue elasticity (Static). Juvéderm treats Static wrinkles by filling in facial volume. The dermal filler is composed of Hyaluronic Acid (HA), a naturally occurring substance found in the human body, and a building block for healthy tissues. HA works by holding in water at the injection site, plumping and cushioning the area. Juvéderm is FDA-approved to treat Nasolabial Folds (between the nose and mouth) and Marionette Lines (below the corners of the mouth), as well as along the cheeks and jawline.* Who is a good candidate for Juvéderm Injectable Gel? The ideal candidate for Juvéderm is an individual frustrated with sagging tissues of the face. Those experiencing a lack of facial volume or hollow areas under the eyes and cheeks, from the normal aging process or illness, will benefit greatly from a Juvéderm treatment. The ideal candidate will also be in generally good health and have realistic expectations for the noninvasive treatment. How is Juvéderm Injectable Gel applied?
At Stadia Medical Spa, Juvéderm is only injected by a skilled, experienced provider, often the physician. A session will take roughly 30 minutes from start to finish, in our luxurious office-suite. Since Juvéderm is relatively pain-free, no anesthesia is required. Patients generally describe feeling a quick pinch as the injections are administered. There is no downtime required after a Juvéderm treatment, and no limitations on activities; patients go back to their usual routine immediately. There may be minor bruising at the injection site, but if this occurs, it will resolve over the next couple of days. |
