Depending on each patient's specific concerns, we may recommend using Fraxel™ technology, Sciton's Erbium Laser or SkinTyte, or Lumenis' Lightsheer Diode laser. San Antonio Laser Treatment - Option 1 - Fraxel™

Fraxel™ uses an erbium glass laser that penetrates the epidermal layers and into the dermis to stimulate the collagen production in the skin. While it does this, it coagulates microzones of damaged collagen in the deeper layer of the skin without injuring the outer layer of skin that is exhibiting sun damage, age spots and other blemishes. Because of its precise targeting abilities, it does not damage the surrounding skin, which accelerates the healing process. It is non-ablative so the dead skin will gradually slough off as time passes to reveal new, healthier more evenly toned skin underneath.

It is minimally invasive. It is also safe to use on the thin-skinned areas of the hands and neck as well as the rest of the body. There is also less downtime.

San Antonio Laser Treatments - Option 2 - Sciton's Erbium Laser for Laser Peels

This treatment is unique in that the same laser allows for varying depths of the peel. It can penetrate as shallow as 10 microns (like a microdermabrasion treatment) or as aggressive as 300 microns requiring an anesthetic. Depending on the depth, the laser vaporizes the layers of skin that will slough off and reveal new healthy skin. Here are the three levels that can be performed in the med spa with the Blizzard Peel being the least invasive and the Microlaser Peel penetrating the deepest.

 

1. Blizzard Peel -- This is our least invasive laser peel, similiar to a microdermabasion.
 
2. Arctic Peel -- Also known as the "Weekend Peel," the arctic peel is ideal for patients with sun damaged skin and early skin aging.  The down-time is minimal, and most patients can have the peel on a Friday and return to work on a Monday or Tuesday.  No anesthetic is required, since chilled air is used to cool the skin during the treatment.  The Arctic Peel provides resurfacing between 10 and 30 microns of the epidermis, and you will have noticeably smoother skin.  While results are seen after one treatment, they continue to improve with successive treatments 3-4 weeks apart.
 
3. Microlaser Peel -- This peel is a little deeper than the Arctic Peel, targeting 20 to 50 microns of the epidermis.  The downtime (4-7 days) is a little longer than the Arctic Peel, but results can be more dramatic.  A topical anesthetic is used to minimize discomfort during the procedure.  The computer-guided laser pulsing allows maximum precision and even resurfacing.  Your final result will be smoother, healthier skin that many say looks 7-10 years younger!
 
4. Star Peel -- The star peel combines the Microlaser Peel with the innovative SkinTyte system.  While the Microlaser Peel resurfaces your epidermis, the SkinTyte utilizes advanced infrared light technology to stimulate collagen contraction and remodeling.  The results are smoother skin with increased tightening and firmness that can provide a lifting effect for your entire face.

Depending on the severity of your lines, wrinkles, acne scars and other blemishes, we will evaluate your skin and decide how aggressive we should be. Or, we can tailor a package of treatments that will allow you to have minimal recovery time but get the same results of a more aggressive treatment. For example, you can get the same results of a microlaser peel with three arctic peel treatments.

San Antonio Laser Treatments - Option 3 - Sciton's SkinTyte

This treatment uses an infrared light to tighten the skin and improve skin tone. The light energy penetrates below the epidermis and heats the collagen found in the dermis layer. This process causes the collagen to tighten, plump up, creating a tighter appearance of the face. This helps smooth out fine lines, wrinkles and acne scars. As the infrared light pulses into the skin, it also helps reduce the appearance of sun damage, flushed spots and hyperpigmentations.
